POPIA and Personal Information Requests
You may contact us about personal information processed in connection with website enquiries, quotations, electrical services, accounts, suppliers or employment communications.
Last updated: 16 July 20261. Requests You May Make
Subject to the Protection of Personal Information Act and other applicable law, you may request confirmation that we hold personal information about you, access to that information, correction of inaccurate information, deletion where legally appropriate, objection to certain processing, withdrawal of consent or an opt-out from direct marketing.
2. How to Submit a Request
Email sales@electricianelectricians.co.za with the subject line POPIA Information Request. Include your full name, contact details, the nature of the relationship or enquiry, the approximate date involved and the action requested.
Do not send identity-document copies in the first email unless requested through an appropriate verification process.
3. Identity Verification
We may request information reasonably necessary to verify your identity and protect information from unauthorised disclosure. Verification requirements will depend on the sensitivity of the information and the request.
4. Response and Limitations
We will assess the request and respond within a reasonable period or the period required by law. Access or deletion may be limited where information must be retained for accounting, legal, warranty, dispute, security or other lawful reasons.
5. Correction or Deletion
Explain which information is inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, excessive or no longer required. Where appropriate, provide the correct information or the reason deletion is requested.
6. Objection and Direct Marketing
You may object to processing where the law permits or ask us to stop direct marketing. An opt-out does not prevent necessary communications concerning an active quotation, appointment, account, safety issue or service agreement.
7. Complaints
If a privacy concern is not resolved, you may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa. The Regulator publishes current complaint procedures and contact information on its official website.
