Shoto Batteries
Shoto Batteries is a Japanese battery manufacturer founded in 1948. The company was originally called Shōdō Battery Manufacturing Company, and it was established by the brothers Isamu and Hideki Shibata. At first, their main products were dry cell batteries for flashlights and radios.
In 1951, Shoto began producing alkaline batteries which soon became popular due to their longer life span compared to other types of batteries available at the time. This success led to the expansion of production facilities as well as an increase in research and development efforts into new technologies such as rechargeable lithium-ion cells.
