CFE Batteries
CFE Batteries history
CFE Batteries was founded in 1978 by Charles Francis and Edmond W. Lathrop. The company initially focused on producing automobile batteries for the aftermarket industry, but soon expanded its product line to include sealed lead-acid (SLA) batteries for a variety of applications such as UPS systems, telecommunications equipment, emergency lighting and more. In 1989 CFE acquired the Power Source Company which produced industrial battery chargers and accessories. This acquisition allowed CFE to expand into the industrial markets with products like motive power batteries designed specifically for electric forklifts and other material handling equipment.
Since then, CFE has continued to innovate new technologies within their product lines including AGM technology which provides improved performance characteristics over traditional SLA
