Goodbye Eskom

Getting off the grid

Goodbye Eskom

We are facing yet another increase of power in SA. As of 1st of April NERSA has approved an increase of 12.74%. This means that in the past two years power has escalated in price by 33.8%. If NERSA and Eskom maintain this trajectory it means that by next year we will be paying 46.54% in comparison to two years back.

Our solution is to move over to Solar Power. Apart from the fact that the country suffers under load shedding, we can expect even more load shedding during the winter season. To further ring alarm bells we could be facing possible load shedding schedule 13 according to analysis conducted by VGBE Energy. VGBE Energy is an independent group that specializes in Coal-fired power stations. They have determined that the water processing plants supplying water to some power stations are in serious need of maintenance and repairs. If these water processing plants are not fixed and fail, we will see a further loss of 13 000 MW of power.

Eskom’s adopted a strategy that costs for electricity should be aligned according to “Cost-Reflective” pricing for power.

It stands to reason that all prices for services and goods in the country will increase. The low-income households will suffer even more.

With such a bleak outlook and if you intend to get off the grid, we have some fantastic deals for you. From batteries, inverters, to solar geysers. Have a look at some of the packages that we offer.
