Hybrid Inverters Hybrid inverters are a combination of grid tie and off–grid inverters. They provide the same functions as traditional grid–tie inverters, but also have the ability to disconnect from the grid and operate as an off–grid system when necessary. This is useful for applications that require an uninterruptible power supply, such as hospitals and other critical infrastructures. Hybrid inverters can also be used in combination with renewable energy sources to create a microgrid system.
